Ericeira, Portugal Announced as Location for ‘World Class’ Surf Summit

Ericeira, Europe’s only surfing reserve, will host this year’s Surf Summit from Nov 5- 6. Surf Summit will bring together 200 of the world’s tech leaders for adventure activities, networking and talks on Portugal’s coastline in advance of Web Summit, the largest and most important technology marketplace.

The annual Surf Summit event is a unique opportunity for the biggest names in tech to meet in an environment that brings together a mix of sports, tech and sun across two and a half miles of Portuguese coastline.

“We’re excited about the buzz around this year’s Surf Summit. It will be an incredible experience for attendees, bringing together the best in tech and adventure sport for two days of networking in a world-class location. It’s the perfect way to prepare for Web Summit itself,” Paddy Cosgrave, CEO Web Summit, said.

Over two days, attendees will have the opportunity to surf the best waves in Europe alongside some of the world’s best known surfers. Other activities include mountain biking along the Lizandro Hills, yoga on Ribera D’IIhas beach and standup paddle boarding. In the evening, dinners and talks will be held under a purpose built marquee overlooking the Atlantic Ocean with an after party held in Portugal’s oldest nightspot, the famous Ouriço nightclub.

Speakers
Andrew Cotton, big wave surfer and multiple Billabong XXL Nominee, will join Anastasia Ashley, American pro-surfer and previous Women’s Pipeline Pro Champion, as speakers and surf mentors.

Location
Ericeira is Europe’s only Surfing Reserve and is known as Portugal’s surf mecca. Located only 30 miles from Lisbon, It is renowned for its two and a half miles of golden beach, seven world class surf breaks, its historic old town, local seafood cuisine and fantastic cliff top views.
